Majlis Lembaga Pengelola Sekolah-Sekolah Tamil Malaysia – MAATRAM
(Tamil: மலேசியா தமிழ்ப் பள்ளிகள் வாரிய ஆமைப்பு) was founded in 2014, driven by a vision to create meaningful change in the lives of Malaysia’s underserved communities.

The word “Maatram” means “transformation” in Tamil, reflecting our commitment to uplifting those who need it most. What began as a small initiative focused on educational support quickly grew into a comprehensive movement dedicated to empowerment, sustainability, and community development of vernacular Tamil Schools in Malaysia

Over the years, MAATRAM has expanded its reach through a variety of programs and partnerships. We’ve empowered education changemakers, spoken on policy and structural issues on Tamil vernacular education , and promoted financial sustainability for schools.

Each project we undertake is rooted in our core belief: that lasting change comes from within our communities, supported by education, resources, and a shared commitment to progress.

This 2024, MAATRAM celebrates its 10th anniversary as a vibrant, growing organisation making a tangible impact across Malaysia.
